Start with the branch requirement and dealer quotation
A vehicle loan project report explains how a goods carrier, tipper, lorry or other commercial vehicle will earn enough to support repayment. First ask your branch whether it needs a report and which format or signature it requires.
The dealer quotation fixes the purchase basis. Your trips, distance, rates and working days explain the revenue. Running costs must match who operates the vehicle, where it works and how it is powered.
What the bank needs to understand
Your contribution
Show the full cost, the loan requested and the amount you will fund yourself. Your lender decides which purchase components it will finance.
Repayment coverage
DSCR compares the amount available for repayment with principal and interest. Ask your branch which formula and target it uses.
Your record
Prepare ITR and bank statements if available, and disclose existing loans. Ask the branch for its credit-history and document requirements.
One consistent story
The borrower details, quotation, income basis and repayment assumptions must agree. Explain any gap before finalising the report.
Official references. Checked on 24 October 2026. Bank terms and asset rules vary. Confirm the terms that apply to your application.
Use the costs that fit the vehicle
The power source changes the assumptions. It does not justify changing the expected income without evidence.
| Cost or assumption | Diesel vehicle | Electric vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | Fuel cost based on the expected distance and consumption. | Charging cost based on consumption and the actual charging arrangement. |
| Driver | A hired driver's pay, or an honest statement that the owner will drive. | The same driver and staffing review applies. |
| Running costs | Maintenance, insurance, permits where applicable and other operating expenses. | Maintenance, insurance and any battery-related commitments supported by the terms. |
| Use and income | Working days, trips, distance and the rate paid for the actual work. | The same income basis, with the vehicle's working and charging pattern reflected. |
Connected sections in your vehicle report
The branch requirement determines the agreed schedules and projection period. Report length varies by assignment.
Project and borrower
Explain the activity, borrower, purpose and earning basis. Identify which figures are supported by records and which are estimates.
Cost and funding plan
Set out the proposed purchase, included costs, your contribution and the requested borrowing. Explain how the total cost will be funded.
Projected financial statements
Show income and costs over the period your branch requires. Confirm any projected balance sheet and cash-flow statement in the agreed scope.
Cash available and repayment coverage
State the tax assumption and existing commitments. Identify the DSCR formula and the loan repayments used in the assessment.
Supporting schedules
Link interest, principal repayments and depreciation to the financial statements. Add further schedules where the agreed branch requirements call for them.
What to have ready for the first review
Quotation or proforma invoice
Include the vehicle variant, chassis or body cost and other purchase components. Tell us what the bank will finance.
Borrower and business details
Share the requested KYC and constitution details after we confirm the document list. Never send passwords or OTPs.
Income basis
Explain the proposed work, rates, trips and working days. Tell us which assumptions are supported by current work or records.
Costs and existing commitments
Include fuel or charging, driver costs, maintenance, insurance and existing repayments. Keep ITR and bank statements ready if available.
Understand the report before you share your figures
The format guide explains the report sections without publishing a real borrower's document. Use it to understand how costs, funding, profitability and repayment connect.
Review the borrowing before you settle the project
Use the DSCR calculator to compare the expected income and operating costs with yearly repayment. It shows both report methods and makes the modelling assumptions visible.
If repayment looks tight, review the project cost, contribution, loan or tenure. We do not increase income on paper to reach a ratio.
Know the fee before work starts
Turnaround: Confirmed after we review the complete inputs.
The agreed scope includes the confirmed report sections, a draft for your review and a final signed copy. We confirm changes, additional schedules and any separate charges before you engage us.
How we prepare the vehicle report

We review the branch requirements and explain the fee and information needed.
Send the supporting figures
Share the quotation, requested KYC details and the basis for your expected income and costs.
Review your draft
Read the assumptions and schedules. Correct missing or inaccurate details before finalisation.
Receive the signed report
After you approve the draft, Finbees issues the final report under its confirmed signing policy.
How our reports work
We prepare your project report from the figures you give us and sign it as Finbees Consulting. It is a projection based on your own numbers. It does not promise loan approval and is not a CA-certified document.
If your bank branch asks for a CA or registered practitioner's certificate, tell us at the start so we can advise on the requirement.
You supply and confirm the vehicle's real income and costs. We do not reverse-engineer trips or utilisation to create a preferred DSCR.
Finbees is not affiliated with any bank.
About the preparer
Finbees Consulting prepares the report. Its registered office is in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. Iniyan is the Managing Partner.

Questions before you start
Do I need a project report for a vehicle loan?
Ask the bank branch that will assess your application. A commercial vehicle or business-use vehicle can require a projection, but the document list depends on the product and borrower. Before engaging Finbees, share the bank checklist, dealer quotation and any signature or certification requirement so we can confirm the report scope.
How much margin money do I need?
Your lender decides the contribution it requires. Published bank products use different financing rules for a chassis, body and fully built vehicle, so a single percentage does not apply to every purchase. Compare the eligible loan with the full project cost, including items the bank may exclude, and confirm the balance you must fund.
What DSCR does my bank expect?
Your bank sets the ratio and the calculation method for your application. The Finbees calculator uses 1.25 as a planning signal, not a lender requirement. Ask whether the branch assesses each year, an average or both. A comfortable ratio alone does not decide the credit outcome or replace the other bank checks.
Can I drive the vehicle myself?
Yes, if that reflects how you will operate the vehicle. State that you are the driver and include the costs and personal cash needs that still apply. If you will hire a driver later, show when the extra cost starts. Do not remove a genuine expense only to make repayment coverage look better.
How does an electric vehicle report differ?
An electric vehicle projection needs an income and cost basis that fits the actual vehicle use. Include the charging arrangement, power cost, distance, working days, insurance and maintenance assumptions. For a diesel vehicle, use the fuel costs that apply instead. Confirm any battery-related expense from the quotation and terms rather than guessing.
Can I see the report format before engaging Finbees?
Yes. The format guide explains the connected report sections and the figures behind them. The bank may ask for extra schedules or a particular projection period, so send its checklist before preparation starts. A downloadable sample is not part of this page. The final report uses the borrower information and scope you confirm.
