Hardware transition
Check the version before you reuse a token.
CCA's migration advisory distinguishes an existing certificate from renewal and fresh issuance.
Existing certificate
- DSCs downloaded on FIPS 140-2 modules by 21 September 2026 can remain operational until their certificate expiry.
- Keep the existing token and certificate details available for assessment.
- Do not assume that a hardware transition cancels every earlier signature.
Renewal or fresh download
- Check FIPS 140-3 validation for the exact hardware and firmware version.
- CCA advises against routine renewal or fresh download on older FIPS 140-2 modules after the transition.
- Ask the issuer about any applicable reissue exception and token exchange terms.
Finbees specifies FIPS 140-3 Level 3 for supplied tokens. The quote identifies the model, version, NIST validation and issuer acceptance.

Can I renew an already expired DSC?
Finbees can arrange the required certificate through the issuer's renewal or application process. Confirm verification, token suitability and the intended portal before payment.
Can I keep my existing USB token?
Check the exact hardware and firmware version, FIPS validation and issuer acceptance. CCA's migration advisory restricts routine renewal on older FIPS 140-2 modules after 21 September 2026.
Does renewal extend the old certificate?
The issuer supplies a certificate for the agreed validity under its approved process. Do not assume that the validity of the existing certificate can simply be edited.
What if my token is lost or someone may have used it?
Contact the issuing authority promptly about revocation. Finbees can coordinate a replacement enquiry, but issuer action and a replacement certificate need their own process.
What if the token is not detected?
Share the token model, operating system and error wording without passwords or PINs. Check the driver and issuer instructions before assuming that a new certificate is required.
Are earlier signatures invalid when my DSC expires?
Expiry does not automatically invalidate earlier signatures. Verification depends on the signing time, certificate status and supporting validation evidence. Preserve the signed records.
Is renewal free because support is included?
Renewal support covers assistance. The written quote confirms future certificate, token and delivery charges before payment.
Will you register the new certificate on my portal?
Ask for the exact portal registration or association tasks in your quote. Certificate issuance does not complete every portal update.
